Taxes and discharge / closing

If someone filed their state taxes but hasn't received the refund will it hold up the discharge? Will the discharge still happen and the closing wait until the taxes have been finalized? Or will the trustee just go by what my tax forms say is happening and proceed with the discharge and closing?
