Hi everyone! I posted a while ago regarding trying to keep my home during a chapter 7. We are currently in a BK 13 and are converting to a 7 within the week. We have decided, after much stress that we are going to give back our house. So I have a couple of questions. First of all, how long once you decide to give back the home, do you have before you have to vacate the home? Second question... we are currently looking for a place to live and have found a home where the seller may be willing to "owner finance", would this be allowed during BK 7 or would we have to wait until the BK is dismissed? Would a rent to own be allowed?
We are hoping to secure a new residence (renting or owner financing) before we actually convert to the 7, since we really are not sure how long we will have left to be here. I am actually going to start packing things up soon.
