Elephant paints self portrait

I have always thought that if the animals could speak & ask questions of humans how much smarter they would be as in all the creatures understanding each other.
This may be very old news but is the first time I have ever seen it. Our animals and pets are smarter than most humans give them credit for. This painting by an elephant to me is amazing.

As a side, I was reading at the library of a border collie who fully understands 340 words & also understands what they mean in a picture. She could pick out the difference between, frisbee, rope, bone & ball in pictures as well as the real thing.

Unfortunately, if animals have self-awareness, which I feel they do, then eating them might be a terrible thing. I have always had this conflict as I am a sometimes vegetarian. At moments when an animal steps out and says-- "hey, I am as intelligent as you are," then the world gets all turned around.

The elephant paints a better picture of an elephant than most humans paint of humans.
Just because humans are at the top of the food chain due to weapons & cages does not mean humans are the smartest. IF humans had to go one on one with no weapons they would lose against most animals.

That kind of reminds me of cannibals & chickens & there are humans who still like the blood & gutts of humans.
