On monday we go and meet/retain our lawyer. I have done alot of legwork to prepare myself. I hve put together a portfolio that includes copies of all the bills I could find, all 3 CR for both me and my husband, a spreadsheet of living expenses - household items - list of all of our creditors with account numbers. I have copies of my last two years tax returns, bank statements, and I think that is about it.
Being so prepared, what would the normal waiting period be before papers were actually drawn up and prepared for filing? Would all of this legwork that I did (even though I'm paying an arm and a leg to have them do it) help speed that portion of it up? Being that they don't have to do so much?
I'm glad that I did do most of it...it gave me an idea of what I'm doing and when they start talking 'law' talk, I'll have a clue of what they mean as opposed to leaving it all in their hands.
So..what sort of time frame am I looking at?
THanks in advance!
