getting trustee permission to buy a house

Has anyone while still in a ch 13 gone to the trustee and asked for permission to take on a mortgage. What happened how long did it take. maybe it depends on where you are in the process. We are waiting for our discharge. 13 network says we closed 2/10/08 Still have 2 creditors that need paid then our check with excess money But if we went to trustee instead of waiting for who knows how long for discharge . What would be in store , They say we are in the review phase anyhow. Do they normally approve it or have to go over all the mortgage papers Any input would really be appreciated. Thanks

Oh ya, they should. As long as your payments during BK have been on time and there were no problems, you should be good to go. Congrats on making it through your 13!!!!

Congratulations on finishing. You probably would have less trouble with the trustee than finding someone to give you a mortgage before discharge or soon after.
