Account numbers not listed in bk paperwork

I turned in my paperwork to the atty on Monday, but something's been bugging me and I don't know if I should be concerned or not. The creditor information I filled out, for secured and unsecured, did not ask for any account numbers. I had called their office before I dropped off the stuff and whoever answered the phone said they no longer list account numbers in the bankruptcy. Is that right? One thing I'm thinking about is later down the road if one of an OC or CA tries to collect after the bk, or I need to dispute the way something's listed on a credit report, will I be in trouble because acct nbrs were not included in the bk?

You can always amend them in later if need be, but it is true that you do not necessarily have to have the account numbers, just proper addresses.

Right, I've read some thread where people are asking about not having the full account numbers which tells me other people are listing that information and thus has me a bit concerned that my attorney isn't listing them.

Do you mean if my attorney doesn't want my acct nbrs because he doesn't list them anymore when he does bks, to just amend it myself? If they're not required, then that's fine and I'll leave it at that, except as I said I'm worried about being able to prove exactly which accts were included in the bk. (ie: a couple years from now I go to buy a house but there's a debt that's not listed correctly as being IIBK, and I want to show the mortgage lender that the debt was indeed IIBK, but without an acct nbr I foresee it could be a plm.) BTW, I haven't actually filed yet as I'm still waiting for the atty to finish the rough draft for my review.

Well, I've been doing all sorts of google searches trying to find more information on what I'm asking, but I can't even find one reference to the fact that account numbers aren't needed. I guess I'm not putting in the right search words?

Another reason I'm asking about this is because I'm filing singly and it's been recommended that I list my husband's debts as well because I'm in a communtiy property state. One debt he has on his credit report is a phone company bill in his name for $1,500. I did put that debt down on the bk paperwork, but won't that creditor get notice and look under my name and ssn and just shrug and toss it aside because they won't know to look under his name and his ssn?

Any thoughts on this and my originial question just above? Anyone?

I had to list the account numbers, however I think it covers us as the filier more so. Accounts(original) can get sold numerous times and I think it could differentiate an account being one in the same. Does that make any sense? I know what Im trying to say just cnnot not articulate it well ...

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you're saying and that's why I don't understand not listing them in the bk. If I should ever need to show someone that a debt was discharged I would very much like to point to the originial creditor name and the corrosponding account number that matches what the the CA or whoever is trying to collect on. Hmm.

No you shouldn't do it. Basically all they need is your SSN and your address and they can look up your account number. Thus it is not really necessary to have the account numbers. Many folks do list them to speed things up.

Thank you. Then if I'm understanding correctly, there's no point in me listing my husband's debts that could become my debts one day if any of his creditors decide to come after me, the wife, some day since we're in a community state. Who knew one of the questions to ask an attorney during a consult is if they list account numbers or not.

No you should only list debts that are in your name

Oh, I must have misunderstood what was said in another thread. Well, in that case, uh... sorry for all the drama.
