Ch 7 Pro Se recommendations

Hi everyone,

I just found this forum last night and joined today. Now that I have finally made a decision to go ahead and file, I feel like a weight has been lifted off of me . Now, I just want to go ahead and get it done. I am planning to file pro se - no assets (no car, house, furniture), I rent, have a son, a baby on the way and a job, that's it. Can't afford a lawyer. Can anyone recommend a good preparation website? I heard about bridgeportbankruptcy.com. Are there any others people might have used that they were happy with?

Whatever you do, do NOT use formatbankruptcy.com. I signed up for it and they grossly misrepresent what you get. They make it sound like a user-friendly interface, i.e. you type into boxes and it generates the forms for you. In reality it's a link to download the PDF forms...the same forms you get from the bankruptcy court. I am SO livid and contacting my credit card company.

you can buy a kit at staples for 27 bucks and do it on your own... that's what hubby and i are doing. Most of these places are going to charge 100-300 bucks

If you have a para legal in your area that could help. I paid $150, they provided the forms, I filled in the questionaire and they printed the forms, and copies and told me where to file. They provided the envelopes and gave me a list of questions I should anticipate at the 341 hearing. It all went so well. I even had a complication of 2 judgements to be lifted. They filled out that paperwork as well and told me how to file that. I am awaiting the Aug 1 discharge date. Hope this helps.
