hello im disable . my wife got me started in credit 3years ago, i been using her and my 2 daughters income as hhi . ive been approved for 30000 in credit between 18 cards . we had to move because our home was sold out from under us. we moved into a trailer which was a gift from god. we owe nothing on mh but the land is 4oo a month and power is 250 . thats 650 more on us plus 600 a year for mh insurance . i have nt worked my self since 1998 . havent filed since then either. if i file ch 7 or13 what do i say or do when creditors or trustee wants tax returns. most people says i have a no asset case because in ala your homestead ex is 10000 per a couple . and my cars are like a 84 and 86 model fords . i dont know what u can exempt for cars and we have nothing else. my wife and girls made 27 dollars a hr intogether but the girls have moved out. im waiting a ssi hearing thanks lp1967

You most likely would need to file for all years that you have not filed for, or else be ready to prove that your income was less than that necessary to file.

The homestead exemption is 5000 per filer, or 10000 per couple in Alabama.

I'm not sure about what the exemptions for cars is though Alabama does have a wildcard exemption you might could use.

Your best bet might be to go to a local bk attorney and run the situation by them and see what they say. Most give a free initial consultation. I'd see 3-4.

One thing is for certain I'd stop using the cards now if you are thinking bankruptcy is necessary.

If you've had no W2 income then, you weren't required to file a return.
See a lwyer and ask how to handle it. It should be no issue. Worse case, you file some returns with a string of zeros.
