    Adversary proceeding

Has anyone filed for adversary proceeding (for student loans) and succeeded? I'm thinking of doing it.

Unless you are disabled with no possibility of paying back your student loans (over your lifetime), the chances of success are slim.

At the very least, you have to have exhausted all other options, (refi, maxed out your deferments, etc) before you even attempt a hardship discharge.

      Thanks for your reply HMM.

      Slim? Something like 10%?

I'm not disabled, but I'm currently unemployed. My future income would fall below the poverty line if I were to pay back these student loans. And yes I have maxed out defermemnts.

My ability to pay them back "over my life time?" Then having a college degree would count against me?

      Has anyone here tried it?
