What are the chances of getting served?

I've recently stopped paying my bills because I am planning on filing BK in the next month. I've already made arrangements to surrender my vehicle to the finance company because I cannot afford to pay the insurance on it. I'm getting tons of phone calls from creditors. My question is...What are the chances of getting served from any of the creditors I am late with? I'm just wondering because I work in sales and if they serve me at work that will be extremely embarrassing.

It'll take a while before they go that route. They will send you many letters saying to contact them to work something out. After that they will send it to a collection agency. After that it goes to an attorney and then you will get served and have a time frame to respond. If you plan on filing BK pretty soon they won't get that far. I had my wages garnished and two creditors took me to court and I filed a week before the court dates and they couldn't do anything about it. Garnishment stopped right away also. If you know you're going to file, do it and don't worry about the creditors.

For just a month it is highly unlikely. Took 2 years for me to get served...
