If you use it for nonluxury items of over $500 within 90 days of filing or, a cash advance of $750 within70 days of filing, WAMU will have the presumption of abuse and could challenge the discharge of that debt.
To be safe, don't use it or any other credit card this close to filing.
I'm planning to file CH 7 in August. I received a new credit card in the mail from WAMU that I haven't activated. Will that have any effect? What?
Thanks!
If there are no charges then you don't have to notify WAMU or the courts. I would activate it and not use it until discharged. If WAMU gets wind of your BK then they may cancel it.
