Divorce and Chapter7 Please Help

Hi. I am getting divorced, (not legally seperated either), in Illinois. We each have credit cards in our own names. I am keeping the marital home that has about 7-8000 in equity in it. I don't have much in personal property but about 20,000 in CC debt. Both of our names are on the first and 2nd mortgage. I need to file BK before the new law but I can't find any information anywhere that says whether or not I can do a chapter 7 AND be able to reaffirm on the 1st and 2nd mortgage without his assistance or approval. Does anyone have any ideas? He won't go joint and has already said, in so many words, that if I try and file BK he will hold up the divorce for sure until after it is too late because he is afraid the creditors will come after him for the debt. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
