    What is typical wait???

I haven't official FILED, but I retained my lawyer on July 21st, and gave them all of bills, finances, Creditor names and addresses, home items, monthly living expenses.

How long after you retain your lawyer, does it usually take until it is actually FILED? It's only going to be 2 weeks come this thursday...but I'm so anxious to get it going. LOL

When should I call to check up on the status of this?

    Thx again guys!

I guess it depends on how busy your lawyer is. Ours was about 3 weeks mainly because our attorney handled all the cases where foreclosures, etc. were involved. Fortunately, we were not but it put us at the back of the line. We actually filed March 28 and had our 341 on May 2. But since the courts are overcrowded due to the new BK law your case may take longer to schedule. Really depends on where the live and the workload of the courts in your area. One thing has been pretty uniform though and that is the 341 is not nearly as ominous as you imagine. Good luck..let us know if we can help.

Have you paid your lawyer in full?

But generally, a fair time to wait is 2-3 weeks. If you haven't heard from your attorney after 3 weeks, give them a courtesy call.
