    Trustee...Where Do They Get It?

So I am done filling out all the information that my atty requested. Holy Crap, it was a lot. It is a good several hundred pages of stuff. Mostly, bank and CC statements. Anyway, I was thinking...where do the trustees get all this information?

It seems that in the really busy areas, they wouldn't have the resouces to take all the time they would have to. Pulling credit reports, searching for assets, bank accounts and such. So, will my atty provide them with this information and they really just try to verify it or what? I guess I don't get that process. Just curious.

Trustees get documents from you and your lawyer. If they can't be found, the trsutee has the power to subponea your creditors for information.
Most bk's are routine and if you're under the median and your expenses seem reasonable, there is no issue. Above median filers and filers with high debt and/or income get the most attention. Plus, 1 in every 250 cases is selected for an audit by the UST.

Your attorney gives the information to the trustee. And if you are a over median or high debt case like me, you have to give more information.

OK, thanks. I am turning everything into my atty tomorrow and was just curious how it all played out. My atty stated that we should have as close to 0 in our bank account. I am assuming it needs to be that way on the date of filing and she will need to be provided a new bank statement. Either way, thanks again, there is such a wealth of knowledge here.

When I filed I had 120$ in my account.

And all my paperwork was done by the paralegal. I didn't have to fill out anything. I just supplied the documents they needed.
