    341 is done, sorta

Well it's been a lonnnnng and interesting day. Left the house at 7:30, got to Rawleigh at 8:30. Good we were a little early, the lawyer's direction sheet needed updating. Construction now blocks access to the parking under the building where our 341 was held, found parking and at 9 the debt management class began.

Didn't really know what to expect from this class. Two and a half hours of how to empower ourselves and take charge of our financial health. As hokie as it sounds this guy was quite the motovational speaker, ex-airborne, ex-drill instuctor, he was very interesting and entertaining, the knowledge he imparted I'd already learned here or was just common sense though.

At 12:30 the 341's started. Most were run of the mill, several questions and you're confirmed, good luck. Some were...uhm more interesting. Unfortunatly mine was one of the more interesting ones. His staff had flagged a couple of things in my filing for him. I'm filing personal but trying to keep my business (a restaurant) going. Now I found him to be a very likeable and friendly guy. He is also very good and very thorough at what he does. This is his job and I understand. On the otherhand I have nothing to hide and was completey up front in my filing. My lawyer has even mentioned (more than once) that he wished all his clients were as up front and thorough as me. The trustee questioned me on several aspects and finally said he wanted to take my file back to his office and look closer at it, he said the proposed payment was feasable, wished me luck and it was over. So basically I haven't got a frickin clue how it went. Tomorrow I'll e-mail my lawyer (poor fellow was sick as a dog today) and get his take on it. I have to give the trustee an inventory of what I lease (everything) and what stuff I actually own: some office equipment; computer, printer and fax, restaurant equipment; I own 4 pieces of equipment, the rest is leased.

Oh well, we got home at 7 pm, right now I am completely emotionaly drained. I have spent the last month since filing not worrying, not fretting and keeping the wife the same. But I'll tell ya, I'm wore out. I had really hoped for the true closer of being confirmed and getting on with my life. Oh well, we'll see. It is what it is.

I hope this post makes sense. I'm on my 4th Mist and ready for bed. Alarm goes off at at 3:30 to start another one.
    The future is unwritten. J.S.

    Hi oldrocker:

I can't add any advice, just moral support. I'm up too. We've got beautiful rain going on here which is sounding great on the roof. It should be perfect sleeping weather, right? Nah, I'm up pacing the floor and this forum.

    My best~~~

Sounds like your 341 went well considering OldRocker. Take that as a step in the right direction.

It's possible that the trustee will object by requesting some additional information but that's just the way they make those requests. My trustee objected to my petition because he wanted proof of insurance. Once I provided that - his objection was dropped and the case was confirmed.

        Old Rocker,

It sounds like your meeting went well, it's just that you have a little more complicated bk and the trustee is just double-checking things (and will probably request a few more docuements). Try to relax, it's almost over ;)
