Learned a little more about awaiting discharge...

I know I need to be more patient, but I'm on day 4 of not eating/sleeping/functioning and this "awaiting discharge" stuff after the deadline for objections is just killing me! Almost and Stilltheone I think you know what I mean (probably others, too).

I called the BK court clerk, who transferred me to my case manager. Apparently their system auto-discharges cases on Tues. and Thurs. if there aren't any hangups. She said that they usually catch them, but in my case she'd have to take a closer look and get back to me tomorrow. It may need to be manually discharged. She was on her way out the door and sounded like she was in a hurry, but she was otherwise very nice. I guess what I'm saying is don't be afraid to call the clerk to ask for the status of your BK case. There may be some little "i" that needs to be dotted or "t" that needs to be crossed in their system (especially if it's a complicated case like ours has been) and a phone call might help get that done sooner.

I honestly think I'm going to need to be medicated if I have this thing hanging over my head all weekend!

I completely understand where you're coming from! Out of curiousity, I looked at Pacer and some other cases that were filed in my state. There was one that had their last day of objections June 30th and they were just discharged yesterday...A few that were 10 days out and then discharged...So, I think the average is 10-20 days after last day of objections.

So, I am holding my breath right along with you. I try not to obsessively check Pacer. Usually once a day, after 6PM...(thought I read somewhere that it updated at 6PM.)

I wouldn't even know who to call about my case. I don't want to sound like a pain and call....*technically* it says on my paperwork to expect a discharge 60-90 days, but I'm hoping sooner rather than later, KWIM?

Hang in there!! We'll get through this together!!

If you're only checking once a day you're much more patient than I am! I figured out that I can do the query as many times as I like without getting charged anything and just look at the last filing date. It is curious that cases get discharged out of order... that makes me think that mine was due for discharge and something made the system skip over it (probably one of the deadlines in the schedule that doesn't say "satisfied" or "terminated"). Whatever the reason, it is sheer torture. The important thing is that neither of us can see an extension or objection filed, so at least we know it's just administrative stuff that needs to get done. I just want to be able to celebrate with everyone else, you know? I have a white russian (the drink... LOL) waiting with my name on it...

Help! Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out.

OK, you got it now? Stop holding your breath. That only adds to the stress that is already there. I don't know if you will be discharge or not. But I do know that you are not a quitter and you will deal with whatever is thrown at you! But that said, I am still pulling for you in the most powerful way!

Good luck - and never give up, never surrender!

Thank you for the kind words, as always. The anxiety gets so much worse when discharge is right there within reach... I honestly don't know how you and 'Hub have been able to hold it together for so long!
