    BK Discharged house surrendering question

I haven't Heard from my lender yet (Countrywide)

Do I need to call them and let them know that I surrendered the house in BK?? (I have only missed one payment so far)

Wondering if I need to notify them or not.

    Thanks!

I'm calling the lender to update them, but it will become abundantly clear when they get the discharge letter in a couple of days.

I wish there was a way to close that "surrendered home" chapter faster, though. Judicial foreclosure is required in the state we're surrendering our home so it's going to drag on forever. I wish we could just transfer the title, get the house auctioned and be done with it... It makes no sense to me that they have to pay an attorney to handle the foreclosure when I'd gladly give them the keys today.

Judicial foreclosure isn't required in my state. It goes in about 60 days (so I was told). I'd like to keep living in it uptil the time I get the notice of default/auction sale date.
Wished I had a crystal ball as to when that might happen.
