How long until home is listed on foreclosure websites?

Seems there are websites (like foreclosurepoint.com - free with basic membership) that list homes in foreclosure. You can access lists by typing in zip codes.

We're three months late on our mortgage and walked from the home months back and I'm wondering when the house will show up on those lists.

Our first is with IndyMac and I wonder if having them in such turmoil will stall the process. . .

Ours showed up as "Notice of Default" after we were 60 days late. That will sometimes be the first time the address is listed (that's when we saw ours, listed as a "pre-foreclosure"). It was specifically listed as a bonafied foreclosure when we got our 90-day notice to vacate. That's when I was able to see it on foreclosure.com and public record.
    File Date: 08/30/07 * 341 Meeting: 10/25/07 * Discharge: 01/18/08
    TransUnion: 645 * Experian: 584 * Equifax: 624

It depends if you are in a judicial or non-judicial state. A judicial state is when basically every step of the foreclosure has to be done through the courts, which makes it public record. The websites data mine for that. In a non-judicial state will only show up when the home has a foreclosure sale date.

      Good Luck

Okay, thanks. I just googled and found that my state does both judicial and non-judicial and it takes about 4 months for the process. Still waiting ONE more month! Luckily we do not live there any longer, so we don't have to fret getting kicked out.

I last paid the mortgage in March, and the NOD was filed on July 23rd, so just shy of 4 months. I knew *something* was up, when my house got a spurt of sudden popularity. People would drive by, slow down enough to look, take notes, etc. It's CREEPY. I feel like turning the hose on them! lol

Ohmygosh, No Gravy!! That is so interesting! I know we aren't at that point yet due to the bk/stay/blah blah...but I SWEAR, everytime I'm at the old house and I see anyone drive by that I don't know, and they slow down, I'm thinking in my head "what are YOU lookin' at?" It never even dawned on me when the house would show up on LISTS !!! Good grief, the fun never stops, eh??

Yep, yep, more fun than the proverbial barrel full of monkeys

My guess is, people don't expect someone will be home (I work at home), or they just don't care. I'd probably never know if they at least parked across the street, but these vultures do everything but get a measuring tape out and start measuring for curtains!

Does make me wonder, if I'm still here after the FC sale and such, if strangers will have the right to look *inside* the property?

I plan to file for BK also, just trying to make sure the timing is right, etc.
