do they every pick up the stuff?

    Hello everyone,

I've been lurking and reading, but haven't seen this question.

I previously believed that all credit cards were unsecured debt. It seems I am wrong about that. It sounds like places like Best Buy, Lowes, furniture stores, etc., are secured debt. I know I've read on the forum about those places at least threatening to come and retrieve items before, during and even after bankruptcy.

Do they ever really do this?

Thanks very much for any insight you can offer.

Not after bk, and they can only pick up stuff with a Court Order or if you open your home willingly. 'Hub

Same problem here...Best Buy and a furniture company have been listed as secured debts. Our lawyer asked us if we wanted to reaffirm them and we said heck no! We've owned all of these items for at least 4 years, and some of the furniture for 5, so good luck getting anything out of them if they should try to take them. I don't think they will...it sounds like bullying to me. However, if they do try, I don't plan on opening the door.
        Filed BK (Ch. 7) 6/2/08
        Discharged!! 9/24/08
        Closed..the end! 10/1/08
