    vacation prior to filing?

We are gathering data in preparation to file soon.

I am concerned that we took a vacation over spring break. We did not charge the trip -- used a bonus from work and "free" airline miles.

At the time, we were planning to work out a debt mgt plan with CCCS.

Anybody else take a vacation in the few months before filing? How much of an issue did it turn out to be?

No issue at all - if you did not use your credit cards or made preferential payments.

I would not worry I took a trip to vegas a month before I filed. I filed in Early Oct 05 took the trip in late Aug 05 and bought the ticket in early Jul 05. Keep in mind I filed before the new bk laws went into effect so I do not know if they are cracking down on this more. I bought the ticket about 2 months before that with a credit card that I filed with. I charged a few things on the card even for the trip. Like my car rental and gas and a couple of meals. All around 300-400. All my rooms and most of my rooms were comped(free) due to how much I gambled at the casinos. Wich is what get me in the bk poblem in the first place. I was not 100% sure that I was going to file at this time. I maybe sorta of knew, but I thought or hoped I could win it all back at the casinos and not have to file. I now know this sounds crazy but at the time I believed I could do this. That is why gambling is and addiction, one that I am free of now. Just to be on the safe side though when asked just tell them thought you did not intend to file when you took this vacation.
