Is Claim of proof same as objection to discharge?

Ford filed a claim of proof the day before our creditors meeting. THey also filed a notice of appearance.

Does this mean they are objecting to my Chapter 7 or are they just putting the claim in so they would be covered if we had to go to a Chapter 13?

What does the notice of appearance mean?

It's a proof of claim. They are basically filing "proof" that they have claim in the secured asset, IE your car. They may not show at the 341. You will know if they are objecting to anything. Your attorney will tell you if you used one.

THey weren't at the creditors meeting and had automatic stay lifted to pick up the car. We called and asked them to pick it up and they did after they lifted auto stay.

I have 21 days left until discharge, when do most creditors object?

Both of our vehicles are financed by Ford and they didn't file anything until after the 341.

Last day for objections is 9/8.

Both of the Lincoln's are still sitting in front of our house. I am still paying on the one we are keeping. My attorney told me that Ford won't come get it until after discharge. I am still driving it, not as much since it is a SUV and drinks gas.
