Question on what to bring to 341

My 341 is scheduled in about 2 weeks. I received some sort of questionnaire form to fill out and was told to send it along with my past 2 years of tax returns. I have not received anything else, nothing telling me what I would need to bring to my 341. I'm nervous that I'll get a letter last minute itemizing a bunch of things I need to bring that I won't have the time to track down... Is there anywhere online I can look to get this information? What is typical?

    Thanks.

I got a letter from my lawyer yesterday for my 341 on Monday and it said to bring my DL, SS card and proof of insurance for the cars since we are financing them. The only other thing I am bringing is a copy of my marriage certificate since I never changed my name.

The only other thing I might bring is the post-filing education certificate if we finish it this weekend. Everything else is staying home. I'm not giving him anything he hasn't asked for or giving him any chance to ask to look at something "since we have it there already."

Good luck at your 341! Let us know how it goes.

my trustee sent me a package telling me everything i need to bring, address where to make my payment to plus what is accepted for payment, a list of legal definitions, and directions to the 341 meeting. the things i need to bring are a questionaire that he included (just some basic questions), a copy of last years federal tax return, payment stubs within 60 days of filing (in my case it will be profit/loss statements), drivers license, social security card, insurance papers on vehicles that i'm making payments on (none in my case), and any real estate documents that show the true value of my property. i'll probably bring everything that pertains to my case in a briefcase just in case there is a problem. i won't offer anything without being asked.

We were told to bring our picture IDs--in our case the DLs, our SS cards, and a copy of our marriage license because my husband and I use different surnames. That was all we brought.

Now, a week before our 'in person' 341, we had a telephonic conference in our lawyer's office consisiting of the two of us, the attorney, and by telephone, the Trustee's assistant. She had all our paperwork and basically ran through evreything double-checking, and asking for the most part, the same questons we would be asked a week later. You could consider this a 'Dress Rehearsal'. This is where we found out we needed the marriage license. The attorney was not aware of that.

This 'Dress Rehearsal' must be something that is required in our district and/or required by our particular Trustee. In my reading here, it seems that very few others have had to do this.

Last bit of advice: Get there plenty early so you aren't rushed, and can watch cases taken ahead of yours. Don't be stressed--I know, easy to say, hard to do.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Thanks everyone. I've got double stress - not only stressing about the 341 itself, and then stressing about childcare. My daughter will have just turned 2 and has only been away from me or my husband a few times. So not only will I be stressed about the 341, but also stressed with how things are going with her (I have two possibilities for childcare for this but neither are confirmed and I'm pretty nervous). So yeah, I'll want to get there early but will also want to minimize the time I'm away... BTW, do these things normally run on time, or pretty behind? Our county has a list of all the 341 meetings and it looks like there are 5 or 6 an hour. We're the first ones listed for our time slot - wonder if that means we'll be first called... Geez, I'll be so glad when this is over!!!

Oh, one more thing, will we need to bring bank statements? I find it interesting that I haven't been asked for that yet...

Geez, it'll be a frazzled week for me - Tuesday is a meet-the-teacher for my daughter, Wednesday is the 341, and Thursday is my 2 year old's first day of "pre-school". Yep, I'll be so relieved when that week is OVER!

If you filed with an attorney, then he has already emailed the trustee your most recent tax returns and pay stubs. Of all the Chapter 7 trustees in our district only 1 request bank statements and that would have been handled right after you file.

              Good Luck
