I looking for a bank that does not run your info through the "checks" system... we have a negative amount thru an old Hunington Bank checking account that has kept us from getting a checking account. This account is included with our bankruptcy so will eventually be taken off the checks system, but i really can't wait any longer to get a checking account. Are there any online banks or large chains that don't run your info? Or would we have any luck telling the circumstances behind that negative info on there?

I'm not aware of any, it's a standard system. You may have to wait until your bankruptcy is done to do so.
A friend of mine ran into the same problem and I believe she filed for bankruptcy - she was able to get a savings account and her bank did not charge for money orders as long as you had the account in good standing. Maybe this would be an option?

There are some second chance banking options out there. The one that comes to mind to me is the ones in all the Wal-Marts down here. I think it is called First Convenience Bank. I haven't seriously looked into them, but I beleive they are kinda high in fees.

i would stay away from "online" banks
that system they use of running your application is standard, maybe you have to call up a few banks and ask if you can pass through that system
or wait till your bankruptcy gets by

You will still stay on ChexSystems even if the debt is discharged through Bankruptcy.
