I received a letter in the mail yesterday from a collection agency I've never heard of about a debt that I have confirmed was included in my bk last October. I checked Truecredit right away and found that they are also reporting it as of 8/08 as a NEW collection!
I am obviously going to send them a copy of my discharge papers but my question is this - should I also include a letter letting them know they are breaking the law and that they must remove the false derogatory information from my credit report immediately?
I have been extremely diligent since my bk about paying everything on time because I never want to find myself in that situation again. This is so disheartening because it's like it doesn't even matter if you do things right. Something will always come along to screw it up.
