I filed pro se chapter 7 in late june 2008, my creditors meeting scheduled July 23rd. OOOOops I missed it, I immediately called my trustee, who I had talked to several times to turn in paperwork over the course of the month, and he took it upon himself to reschedule it, instead of dismissing it. Rescheduled meeting Sept 2, 11:30am.
I over slept but I still made it today. Im a truck driver and its very hard to be where u need to be when u need to be when it comes to time off for me. I was alittle scared today but I made it thru. And I have read the previous posts and yes there were alot of older bankruptcy filers, a few lawyers but with the help of nolo books, the bankruptcy forum, and my internet researching skills, I was able to do the paperwork on my own.
For those of you who are new to the forum and are looking for encouragement, a place or person to vent to or looking for someone in a similar situation as you, you have come to the right place. I filed a chapter 7 no assets, no car, house, I have a federal tax lien, and on the day I filed my previous credit for a car that was repossesed was taking me to court. I am a truck driver, no kids, and currently making 52,000 dollars a year plus with my new job based on my last few months of work.
Its hard, but when after the rain there is definitely some sunshine. Keep your head up, I made mistakes on my bankruptcy, I missed debts that should have been listed, I failed to do it 100percent, but its the comeback that really tells your strength, you actions after your inactions that shows your will.
God bless you all and I want to say thank you.
Im off to look for a vehicle some way some how, im not trying to pay a high note, but a sister is tired of riding the bus its not the best thing to deal with.

Thank you.......Im so happy i could scream. Now its time for the hard part. Start getting credit. Maintaining it and not slipping up like before. Something I probably rarely have done previously before.
