Thank God for great people like him who defend our country. God bless you and your family and good luck to him. robivi3 09-15-2008, 10:51 AM WOW! Went to Parris Island South Carolina for graduation. The base was smaller than I thought but I am thouroughly impressed by the US Marine Corps. we were at PI for approximately 19 hours over two days and I saw alot. Wife and I were about to walk through a line of shrubs and realized that it was recruits bent over, locked in position and covered with mud. The place is much hotter than Fort Lauderdale by far, heat index hit 120 the first day. Wednesday was a "meet-n- greet" at a restaurant in Beaufort which was great. Thursday was family day and the ceremony was the most moving of the two. Friday was graduation. Son went to Jacksonville for two days with his girlfriend and her family while wife and I went to tour Charleston and Savannah. Enjoyed Charleston very much and loved Savannah. Paula Deen's is NOT a small "Mom and Pop" eatery, it seats 2000 an d I doubt she does much cooking. great trip, excellent getaway all around. Congrats and Godspeed to you and yours! PoorGrammyinBK7 10-30-2008, 08:21 AM As the wife of a former US Marine, and with deep respect to all our service men and women, I thought I would share this. I know some people and even some in the service may disagree with it, but the vast majority of service men and women would agree I think. Anyway, it is something for all of us to think about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG4fe9GlWS8 | |
