Like I said my husband and I both have a car and I have equity in mine. I would like to file a 7. We live in Ohio. Although I do have equity in my car I am not sure that it will last me that long and I am seriously thinking about buying a newer car (used) before filing for BK. We are not planning to file until Feb 09 for income purposes. I would like to know if we can still file a 7 keep both cars and how much equity is allowed before I can only file a 13. I also was thinking about the titles my husband had mentioned that also how do I go about getting us both on title for the cars? I am waiting for my appointment with my attorney but it is still about 2 weeks away and I have so many questions especially about our cars. Thanks so much!

Don't change title info this close to bk.
It's pretty standard to get your transpotation needs arranged prior to filing. Using the car with some equity for a tradein and then financing a reliable ride is a good idea.
A google search with the subject Chapter 7 bankruptcy exemptions in Ohio or something similar will give you basic info about Ohio's exemptions. -
about changing tittle info go to your local tax collectors office (its usually the same place you renew your car registration) and tell them what you want to do. Since you don't plan on filing until Feb. 09 I see no reason why you should not go ahead and change it. But you should ask your atty just to make sure.
