    Weekly gardening service cost???

Hi All...Does anyone have a ballpark figure of what a weekly gardening service might cost (a basic "mow and blow" for a small front/back yard) in CA? We are renting now as we are giving up our home in the bk, and the owner pays for a gardening svc to come every Thursday, but I'm considering approaching him and asking if we could do it ourselves, for a reduced amount in our rent. I know I could just ask him how much he's paying, but I'd rather have an idea going in, and I haven't a clue--never had a gardener in my life. It's not so much the savings I'm after, it's just that the gardeners are kind of a pain--for one thing, they haven't even shown up today, after arriving at 8:45 for the past several weeks...they damaged a decorative planter of ours (that was in a planter, they apparently swung the mower around in there and bent it terribly, didn't say a word--but I heard it) and we have a dog that I have to bring in and out while expecting them, which is kind of a pain in the rear, especially if they aren't on time, and I have several "school runs" to make!! (have to leave the gate unlocked, take down another gate we use for the dog, etc..) Thanks for any help you can offer!

It will run you about $30/week in Texas. I don't know if it's more or less in CA.

We pay $40/month. But we have a SMALL yard. Probably best to ask another gardner for a quote on your yard.

Check around with illegal aliens, if they speak English. They would know what they received in the past from other people.

My opinion only, I would tell your landlord that you DO NOT want the service and would rather do it yourself for a slight break in rent, after all, you are a customer so to speak. If he will not agree, ask him if he can make the yard service replace or repair their damage. ‘Hub
