    Closing a Joint Bank Account

I have been on my fiance's checking account for a few years, only so that I could go to the bank for him and deposit his paychecks. No money in this account was ever mine or was ever used to pay my bills. Both lawyers I've talked to so far advised me to have my fiance take his money out of this account, close it, and open a new one in just his name. My question is if this looks shady to the trustee? Are these bank statements something that I am going to have to show?

Close the account at this bank, and both of you go to a different bank and open separate accounts.

I'm in close to the same boat. I have my name on my mom's checking and savings account being the executor of her will, and she wanted it that way to make things easier for me to get to her money.

It's not my money and I never touch it, but my name is jointly listed on the account with her. I'm thinking I may have to get her to close the account and reopen a new one in only her name until my BK is over?

Worst case scenario is that you would have to show bank statements. I think your lawyer gave you sound advice.
