HELP Need help finding good lawyer in Texas.

we are in the process of trying to find a good bankruptcy lawyer here in my home town of College Station Texas. We went to see a chapter 7 lawyer today. real drop kick said we didnt qualify due to our income. but when we asked him questions we knew more about it than he did. we had read alot on this site before going. we have some more appointments this week. hope we find some one that we can depend on. It would be great if we found someone on this site that has had a local lawyer in the bryan college station area. we are late on our first credit card payment today and will be late on two more this week. our credit has been spotless up until now. we are 110,000 in det on credit cards. its really starting to sink in that we are going down the tubes. we have two grandkids that we are taking care of. 8 year old and 7 month old. both boys. lost one daughter two years ago to suicide and the other daughter is in prison. so we have had a pretty rocky life. now this.... but this site has helped. so enough of the crying if anybody out there knows of a good lawyer around Bryan College station please let us know. thanks Richard & Judy

I am so sorry for your situation. Please do not put your real names down here though in the future for safety. We have had similar situation with a god-daughter in prison and we have befriended several people in that situation. I’m sorry about your loss of a daughter. Remember you now are her guardian Angel for the kids.

Entering bankruptcy is scary, true, but not the end of the World. It is a “New Start” in life for you. It is business decision and should never be looked on in shame. You are not the first and many in our economy will follow in this depressed economy.

Now about a lawyer. We love Texas but we live in Florida. Check online in your area, or the Texas Bar association. At least visit two or three for consultations. They generally are free. The forum does not like personal recommendations as their rule.
