How do you get a Chapter 7 dismissal?

O.K. I admit it. I made a HUGE mistake going Pro Se in Virginia. I failed to realize that Virginia has arcane homestead deed rules. I went to my 341 on 07/22. On 08/17, my trustee has filed an objection to my homestead exemption of $5k, due to the fact I did not file a deed within 5 days of the 341. What are my remedies? Do I convert to a Chapter 13? Is this the ONLY way out of this nightmare? Surely, there is an easier way out. I want to keep the Chapter 7 in play. Will the trustee cut a deal with me and allow me to make payments on the $5K, or can he place a judicial lien on the property? I don't want to lose my house over this. And do you think he is he going to go for an appraisal and dig deeper?...HELP!

Maybe I shold just forget the whole thing and have the Chapter 7 dismissed. How do I go about writing up that motion, and will it be granted? Anyone?..

You should contact an attorney now, if money is the issue contact the local or state bar and get a referral, you may qualify for a reduced fee. You only have so many days to file and objection to the motion so you may want to seek counsel immediately. Can you claim the federal exemptions in your state? if so maybe you may want to amend and switch to federal talk to a local attorney and find out.

I really agree about consulting a attorney (consultations are free). At least you will have an idea of what your up against and options available too you.
Better hurry though, you do have deadlines....
