How long should I wait after transferring 20k from a joint CC to an individual card before I file for chapter 7 or 13?

Typically, the wait period is 6 months for transfers/cash advances, but if the person that was "joint" on the card with you isn't filing BK, this transfer can be looked upon as fraudulent and challenged by the CC that is left "holding the bag for 20k"...

So sorry, didn't mean to scare you! I just wanted to let you know the "worst case scenario" about your transfer. Right now, time is your best friend...try to put as much distance between the transfer. Hold out filing for BK as long as you can.
