I don't understand? waiting for discharge

I would like to know if someone can explain this to me in layman's terms.

I filed 7/17/08
341 meeting 8/15/08
last day for objections 10/14/08

On Pacer it shows status, "awaiting 341 meeting"

I just talked to the trustee's secretary. (I was very impressed, I sent an email and she called me within 3 minutes.)

There was one of my creditors at the 341 meeting. The trustee just asked her if she had anything for him. The creditor was my ex landlord, whom I didn't fight in small claims court, since I knew I was filing chap 7.
The trustee was pretty short with her, and that was that, we left.

Well, according to the Trustee's secretary, they were awaiting her questions, objections etc. Before they could show my status as finished with the 341 meeting. Nothing was ever filed. I seriously doubt that the ex landlord really even knows exactly why she was there.

It's my understanding that she was there to say I had assets, so she could get her money, right?

I don't have any assets, except my 401k, which is ERISA qualified.

So, the secretary I spoke to today told me that she would talk to the trustee today and see if she can go ahead and submit it as a "No asset case".

So, here is my question, Exactly what does this all mean? Where am I now in the process? Will I get a discharge soon after that is taken care of?

Help!

I am a nurse, not an attorney and this stuff is so complicated and confusing.

BTW, my attorney is no help. She told me that I wasn't even allowed to use Pacer, that it is very private and I couldn't have access to my case.

Sorry, don't know the answer to your question, but my atty told me they don't recommend folks using Pacer either as it causes lots of confusion. Too bad for her, I say. I like being involved and in the know, even if I get confused/worried. Wonder how many other people are disuaded from using Pacer?

Best of luck to you.

I am glad I found pacer, otherwise who knows how long my file would be sitting in this "awaiting for 341 meeting" status? It bothers me, because I called my attorney first and she fluffed me off, she just said, "Oh they are probably just behind." Well, nope, that isn't what happened. Honestly, she should have made the contact to the Trustee, not me. But, we have to always advocate for ourselves. Just like when you have a family member in the hospital, you need to ask questions and be in the know. I am an RN and I know that many people's own knowledge and family members assessments of the patient's wellbeing are priceless when it comes to their care.
