You can blame the internet and all the "investigative bloggers", especially on the right wing side where most of the conspiracy nuts hang out, for much of these new vetting procedures. It is a sign of the times. Look at the background investigations into Obama. If he ever pissed in the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii when he was a kid, it's likely some right wing attack blog would find out and use that to try to disqualify him from the Presidency. No surprise he wants his staff to be squeaky clean.

That is why I used the word "especially". I did not say exclusively by the right, but especially by the right. Was that not clear?

But don't try to tell me the attacks from the left equal the attacks from the right in the blogosphere and web pages. The right wing sites far outnumber the left wing sites. And the right wing attacks are more vicious and deceptive by far, often using outright fakery to generate an issue. At least the attacks on Palin were based on her own words and actions.

I've been watching the right-wing sites after the election. They are getting scarier all the time. Seems the right-wingers are praying for either an assisination or a Civil War. And the worst offenders are the right-wing "patriot sites" run by Zionist Jews. Not sure which is more a threat to this country, the Nazi KKK skinheads or the zionist jews. Strangely they seem to have joined forces against the majority voters in this country.

No the right actually attacks far less than the left based on negative articles produced by both WhatMoney.

We don't see the right because they lose a major ballot initiative stomping through city streets. Burning property, intimidating people in their places of gathering, yanking symbols from old ladies and trampling it under foot. However we do often see the left engaged in such behavior.
