Hi! Newbie with a few questions...

    Hello to ALL...

I've been lurking on this site for a while now and I just have a few questions...

First of all, I filed ch.7 on Oct.7 and I did my 341 meeting today and I must say...IT WAS A BREEEEEZE, everything went smooth(5min. and I was out).

    My questions are:

    1. I still have a few creditors to add to my ch.7, is it too late? Some are charge-offs.

    2. What should be on my credit report since I've filed Ch.7, other than the bankruptcy?

    3. I am reaffirming my 03 monte carlo ss($10,000 / 69000 miles), because I've never been late nor have I ever missed a payment in 3 years...Will they continue to report to all credit agencies or should I let my car go and start over?

Well that's all the questions for now and I'd like to thank you all in advance

Everything should be IIB Included in bankruptcy and your score should be tanked by now.

jsut keep paying and don't reaffirm unless you have to in your state

Well that's all the questions for now and I'd like to thank you all in advance

I'm in GA. How can I find out if I must reaffirm or not? I've received reaffirmation papers even though I haven't signed them yet.

i have a question, i am about to file chapter 7, and i have a leased vehicle, i am actually the cosigner, and the bills get sent to my mom.....
I know this is the right thing for me, but i am so scared it will affect her credit, or the car place will say the account is associated with a bankruptcy...
Does anyone know if they keep getting my payment, will the do anything to my mom's credit report?

            Debbie,

What state are you located? I am in California, specifically San Bernardino County. In regards to the additional creditors, were you asked by the trustee at your debtors meeting if you approve of the schedule of creditors? You will need to contact your attorney and advise him of the additional debt and he/she will need to submit them again to the trustee. I understand your desire to have everything in the BK, even if it is a collection or judgment that is tied to a previous debt. It is much easier to include everyone instead of battling with credit companies to remove items from you credit report. To answer your question about your credit report, all your bad debt will remain on your credit report along with a public record for the BK. The BK will remain for 10 years after discharge. Next to each debt that was BK'd it will state "Bankruptcy". I suggest obtaining a copy of your report from each bureau 30 days after discharge. I would make sure each debt included states BK and if not, dispute it until it does. Time will heal your credit score and believe me, you will start seeing the credit card offers and car offers, even in this economy. My suggestion is to wait at least 6 months, then apply for a secured card. I hope this helps. In regards to the car, I would reaffirm it. It will allow you to keep it and give you some positive credit activity and boost your scores a little better.
