    Notifying creditors?

I filed the other day, a Ch13. I've only told one cc company that I was filing. I haven't heard anything from the other two although one did call on my cell today but I couldn't get to the phone. I would imagine that they will be getting a notice from the court? Am I obligated to talk to them when they call?

A letter is sent from the courts... Once they get the letter can take a week depending on where they are located they will stop calling. If you get a call just accept it and just refer them to your lawyer.. The phone will stop almost immediately.

No, you're not obligated to speak with them, however if you happen to answer and the caller is one of your creditors, simply tell them that you have hired an attorney to represent you in bankruptcy prroceedings (if you used an attorney) and give the caller your attorney's contact info. You can also tell them that you have filed BK and what chapter. Otherwise, let them contact your attorney for anything else. If you filed Pro Se, then you'll probably have to give them the case number, yada, yada, yada.

All suggestions are based on personal experience and research and SHOULD NOT be construed as legal advice as I am NOT an attorney. Always consult with competent counsel in your area with regards to your particular situation.
