Does this feeling ever go away?

We met with our attorney in Oct and plan to file chapter 13 in January 09.We were current on all our payments up until our meeting and then stopped paying. Yesterday we surrendered our lease vehicle (will be included in filing) we purchased a new vehicle on the advise of our attorney. It was so hard to face the people at VW when turning in the car but they were suprisingly understanding. Creditor calls are just now starting and everytime the phone rings I get that sickly feeling in my stomach does that ever go away? I am hoping once we file and things get on their way that life will start to get better but as of now it is so hard to see the light. We will be filing about
110k in credit card debt, the deficiency of the lease surrender and we are planning on stripping our 2nd of 50K.

Thanks for this forum and all the great support and advise that is given

the feeling does go away. In fact once the phone calls stop, I actually felt lonely. LOLOL (NOT) but there is a relief to being able to go to the mailbox, to answering the door and the phone and knowing that there isn't a server there with papers or a debt collector trying to make you feel worse than you already do.

Yes, the feeling goes away. For me it helped to organize everything, ONCE and FOR ALL. By that I mean, no more cc statements, no more letters, no more calls. It is finished - and it is just business. Debt in a file so to speak. I feel a lot better - like I can finally move forward with my life without these little 'debt anchors' weighing me down.

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..

It does go away. You will feel a relief after you file and can give that information to your creditors so they stop calling. After the 341, if it goes well, you will feel a little less stressed and when you finaly get confirmend, that's when you feel like you can start your new life.

Yes, it definitely goes away... if the big banks are begging for bail out, what's so wrong with us getting help when we need it? The economy is crumbling, and it's affecting almost everyone. Hang in there.

              It does go away

to be replaced by a feeling of relief and new beginnings! My attorney hit the "Send" button for the electronic filling 2 years ago January and I left his office almost in tears because it felt so good to know that I'd taken a positive step in getting control of my life. The mailbox was no longer my enemy. Since I was current on my CC payments I didn't have the phone calls to dread - but it was coming if I hadn't filed. So things will get better!
