I am filing chapter 7, and have been laid off for the past 9 months. My 341 is December 18th.
I have a pending job offer. It's not a great job, but in Michigan, jobs are scarce.
The job pays $15 an hour, but I believe there is scheduled overtime. My lawyer told me that any job that nets over $1,500 a month might jeopardize my chapter 7 (my wife works). If my calculations are correct, this job will net about 1,700 with no overtime. We will then have to pay about $500 a month in childcare costs - which would bring us right down to the 1,200 that unemployment is netting. I will not have received a check at the time of the meeting.
What is the question they ask pertaining to employment? Do they ask if there has been significant budget changes, or if there has been employment changes?
Should I assume that because my budget hasn't changed, that I'm okay? Or will the overtime cause issue? Or will they worry more about my last six months of income?
How many questions was that? haha, sorry.
Thanks for any feedback
