Sent quitclaim to ex...

I am filing chapter 7 on Monday, the same date that my former home is supposed to be auctioned off for unpaid taxes. Months ago, my ex gave me money in exchange for my sending him a quitclaim deed on the house. I mailed it to him certified mail but he never picked it up or filed it with the court.

How do I handle the house on my chapter 7?

Unless you owned the home outright, a quitclaim deed is not even worth the paper it is printed on.

Bottom line, you still have a property interest in the house, so you must list it as an asset. At this point, just list it as an asset (also list any mortgages as creditors also list the state as a creditor becaue of the property taxes), and let the trustee sort it out.
