Well, been reading and reading here... filed Pro Se in Central Ca - Santa Barbara district... had to go to the clerk twice to get everything right... NIETHER TIME was anyone in sight! (other than the clerks)... wondering if empty courts are normal?
Questions for y'all (wife is from Arkansas and lerned me to talk like her):
1. Any experince with trustees in Santa Barbara - Sandra McBeth?
2. I didn't see the list of things counted as exemptable personal property (like only one TV) and I have three - and other things... 3 cars and boat stuff. I am below my "wild card" $20 K amount as items are old, so can I amend my petition later (after 341) if trustee slams the items I did not claim correctly under the wild card?
3. I just supplied MY copy of Tax return, not one from the IRS... will that be a problem?
4. How much detail should one bring to the 341? I am thinking very little as this is a time really for you to be audited by creditors personally (methinks). During the period after the 341 you can be questioned by anyone so why try to overdo it and second guess what may be questioned at the meeting. I mean be prepared to explain what you did on the filed forms but if anything unexpected comes up just handle it later... right? I dunno...
5. I have some money in a IRA that was rolled over from a 401K. I am out of work now and need to take out some or all of it - am over 65... I know this money is exempt while in the IRA but when can I take it out and use it to live on and not risk having it taken by the trustee?
- Sure wish there was a spel checker on this site - so pls forgive.
- Not too worried 'bout this as life has been real good so far and this little bump will pass. Still very glad to be alive and healthly - looking forward to the so called "fresh start" and the next phase of my (our) lives!
- Thanks in advance for any posts to help with this and wish me luck on Monday!
DogLover - (Bichon and Schipperke breeds - white and coal black - salt and pepper!)
