How often should I check PACER?

I just filed. My attorney said that PACER was his job and a waste for me but everyone her seems to check it.

I like to stay informed as I know I am not his only client. How often should I check?
Very fortunate in the grand scheme of things but have learned my lesson.

    Filed 12/15/08, 341 1/12/09, Cont to 2/12/09, cont to 3/12/09, cont to 4/15/09, cont to 5/11/09, cont to 6/02/09. Discharged 9/16/09, Closed 10/23/09

Pacer became an obsession for me. I hope it won't for you. I checked it everyday after I filed which was a waste of time. I'd say once a week would be plenty.
    Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008
    341 - 11/26 went smooth NO ASSET
Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

If you insist on checking it,

Once a week between the time of filing and the 341 meeting. You are looking for deficiency notices (these are common, your attorney is usually aware of the issue before the deficiency is even filed and get it worked out)
After the 341 meeting, maybe twice a month. You are looking for claims objections, and motions by the BK trustee or UST.

You have to realize, there is nothing that will show up on PACER that will need to be dealt with in less than a 2 weeks. Also, it is rare that anything that happens in a bK comes as a "surprise". If you have a half way decent attorney, and have done your own homework, you already know the potential issues in your case. Thus, if you are over the median, you will get an objection from the UST, and will have to sort it out.
