got letter in mail today from my lawyer stating i wasnt reaffirming a car loan i cosign with my g/f she has been making payments for couple years now and i recently filed bankruptcy but she is still gonna make the payments on it. the loan people want me to reaffirm but my lawyer doesnt want me to. since i didnt will they reposess my car even though i am up to date and continuing to make payments i was told they could if u didnt reafirm. has this happened to anyone where they didnt reafirm and they came and repoed it on them please let me know so i can decide if i should reafirm with them,i only have like 7000 dolars left on it and plan on paying it off in couple years,and does anybody know if this will show bankruptcy on my g/f credit too since i filed and she is on loan too.

I would not reaffirm.
If she is a cosigner for the car loan then you would absolve your responsibility and it would become her sole responsibility. So long as she then makes proper payments to the lien holder everything should be fine.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
