    escrow account on mobile home

I have a mobile home financed with Vanderbilt Mortgage. The home is in Texas It is vacant, for sale and being discharged in the bk. We have 700 or more in our escrow account. They usually refund us in April but keep what they call a "cushion". It has always been a pain to get the money back from them. We quit paying the mortgage in November...do we have a chance at getting that escrow back.

Also, it is insured with allstate but we pay vanderbilt for it. Should I cancel it?

You most likely will not get the escrow back. That's how it is with my mortgage company anyway.
You need to keep the insurance on the trailer you are still responsable for the asset.

I doubt you will receive this money back. If the home has already been given to the bank, you can cancel the insurance. Otherwise I would leave it alone.

Since you have surrendered the home in your BK (right?), when you cancel the insurance any unused premium is sent to you and not to the lender.

No, you do not get your escrow back, it is applied to the arreages.
