Well its paid for with union dues. I'm not sure I see the problem. If the members have a problem with it they should say so. Its their money not ours, So its nobody else's business but theirs.Last edited by JJL; 12-26-2008, 01:55 PM.BTW anything I say here is just me yapping based on my experience. Your milage may vary.

Since I make less than 1/3rd of the UAW worker and I'm thus subsidizing their higher wages through the bail out so that they can pay for such extravagances I don't have I think it's a problem.
If they want more of my money I expect such things to be done away with.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
July 2nd, 2007: 341 Meeting Held
September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.

I make less then 1/6 of what they do, and when the wage cuts go through, it'll be 1/4 or so. You don't see tears rolling down my face now, do you?Originally posted by JRScott View PostSince I make less than 1/3rd of the UAW worker and I'm thus subsidizing their higher wages through the bail out so that they can pay for such extravagances I don't have I think it's a problem.

Where were you, when congress handed out 350 billion to the banks and such? No accounting, budget cuts and compensation cuts to the management.
The public voice was heard only once at the first budget proposal. After that, they rolled over and went back to sleep.

I wrote my congressman and told them to vote against it, my congressman in fact a majority of them did vote against it, where were you?
As for why I wasn't on the forums mostly because I was concerned more about my father and his problems and thus did not have time to devote.
(Keep in mind I said I make less than 1/3rd, that doesn't mean 1/3rd exactly...in fact I make considerably less than 1/3rd of their total compensation).May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer

And I called mine also. OK, so we did what we're supposed to..Helped alot didn't it?
Sorry about your father. I know what it's like. But this place is for other reasons then to get others to write their elected officals.
Like I said, I make less then 1/6...Interesting, but then again, the automakers are in Michigan, tax rates are (From what I hear) quite high..I suspect there's going to be alot of line workers going down the tubes like us.
Soooo..here we are..Back to square one..Fun trip?

Frankly, this is chump change to the 350 billion the bankers got
That was the very problem with ALL the bailouts. Once the first group gets theirs then everyone else including the unions will ask "Dude where's my bailout?" "Your bailout is larger then mine". etc.
I thought the financial bailout for the purpose of bringing back confidence in the system was ok as long as it was treated like filing for bk where it's means tested and there are look back periods such as company executives having to give back any bonus they got a year before applying for the bailout.
The same goes for the Car bosses and the UAW, but as we see it didn't happen. The essence of freedom is the proper limitation of Government
