Rooms to go furniture...to pay or not?

OK I have a leather couch and dining room table we financed in July 2006 thru Rooms2Go credit card which is serviced by GE Moneybank. Last July, I added a hutch for the dining room and a chair. I was paying $100 a month and the new purchases added $41 so now I am paying $141.00 a month. I am up to date but falling behind on all my bills and decided until I file Ch 13 in March to only pay my house, cars and secured creditors. It says on my contract with Rooms to go that they retain title to furniture until all payments have been made. Is this a secured creditor? Should I continue paying them ? I need to pay my power bill worse than them as it was $300.00 this month. I just want to keep my furniture and don't want to lose any of it. What should I do?

If you are planning to file Chapter 13 in March, then I would blow off the payment to RTG, list them as unsecured in your BK, and see if they even pursue the furniture. If they do, either let them take it, which they rarely do on stuff older than a year, or offer to cash it out for pennies on the dollar. I deal with them a lot and they blow a lot of hot air, but never pursue the actual items (GEC, not RTG)

    Good Luck
