So, if do this, will I ever finish my education?

I'd like to get my masters, which I'd assumed would just be more student loan debt. But now I'm guessing no one would extend me loans.

Does anyone know if some student loans are NOT dependent on credit? Like, maybe Federal ones?

Is there a such thing as student aid (grants and scholarships) for masters degree? I don't think there is.

From what I have heard on this board, the loans are not credit based (I'd guess Feds aren't) those at a private bank is another question.

Maybe a search of the board will turn up info you need.

      Check out this link: http://www.staffordloan.com/stafford...fford-loan.php

You should be able to get up a bit over 20K in stafford loans, which should more than cover grad school if you are getting in state tuition.

My wife has went back to school for her Pharmacy Doctorate and Fed loans were no problem. We needed more for living expenses and our credit union was more than happy to help at prime rate, with no payments until six months after she finishes school.

The Fed loans are not credit dependent. The credit union loans are credit dependent, but we simply explained our situation to a VERY understanding credit union.

As the others have stated, federal loans aren't tied to your credit in any way shape or form. I have absolutely terrible credit (repo's, defaulted accounts, etc) and I was able to get a Pell Grant and Stafford loans to pay for my college, which incidentally starts on the 12th.

Don't worry about it, you'll have no problems finishing your edjumication.

As much value as we place on education...people "really" need to start evaluating whether the cost of the education is worth the benefit.

Your first question or challenge "should be"
            1. If I want an education, how can I pay for it and NOT incur debt. (i.e. look at various programs, different types of schools etc).

As with anything else, you should not simply concede that you MUST get a loan. Also, for all practical purposes, you need to evaluate whether you can really afford the loan. If a person is going to take $60K loan to get a Masters in Education, that person should think again.
