Checking acct history & Chapter 7

Will the judge look at the checking history prior to approving a Chapter 7?

Also, will he look at my company credit card statement? It's an American Express card that the company issued me. I have used it for personal expenses, and paid those back through my checking account.

A judge isn't going to look at anything.
Your trustee may or may not have an interest in your cc charges. Most lawyers will want to see a few months of bank statements.
Nothing wrong with using personal funds to repay a company cc. You may need to wait 90 plus days to avoid a preference payment issue if, the amount is over $600.
Let your attorney know about the charges and payments.

Do I need to use an attorney? I was planning on using a place that draws the papers up and I walk in and file them myself.
