Charge on Chase Credit Card

We are filing first of Feb.
Just checking my credit card statments to see last charges and remembered about one on my chase card. We charged 291.00 on 11/30/08 to a emergency vet. We thought my dog broke his leg and it was a emergency situation. Fortunately his leg was not broke(doctor was convinced it was broke-but we asked him to do the x-rays because we could not afford surgery(2500..wow!) and is was not broke!!!we got lucky but wondering if this willl be a problem with filing bk.

Maybe not the trustee, but Chase might challenge the dischargeability of that amount as it was on 11/30 - less than 90 days before filing.

To not have gotten medical treatment for that dog would have been animal cruelty, which is a crime. Just watch Animal Planet and some of their rescue shows.

So regardless of whether the Trustee is an animal lover or not, if it is contested and you have to prove what you used the card for, it should be counted as emergency use.
