    Refinance prior to bankruptcy

It is inevitable that I will file bankruptcy with the next 12-18 months. However, I really need to refinance the property (triplex) that I got in the settlement. My score right now is very good, but debt to income is high. I do have maintenance paid monthly of 2k. I will keepthe triplex even after bankruptcy. BTW, the rent from the other 2 units more than covers the cost. Any advice?
    Thank you!

First off, how is it inevitable that you will have to file in 12-18 months, just seems like that is long way off to be "sure" you are going to file. And for that matter, if you need to file, why wait that long.

However, if your not going to be filing for that long, and in the long run you can get a better deal by refinancing, there is no reason not to do it.

I say, try it. Look at your options. All you can do is be told yes or no about a better interest rate or not. Also maybe it will help you having to file bankruptcy.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....
