'Current Projected Date of Final Report' listed as May 7, 2010!!!!

Does this mean my case will be open until then?

PACER has been no help to me, my 341 meeting was on Dec 1, yet it still says 'Awaiting 341 meeting'

Tonight I check PACER, and on the main page, it says today was the date of the last update.

Basically a list of assets (we have none, but are listed as an asset case?)
We live in Kansas. (no exemptions)
There is a list of our 'assets', with $10,350 (cars, jewelry, furniture) listed as 'Fully Administered', except for our income tax refund, which has an estimated value of $1500 on the form, this is listed as an asset.

Also, on the page, there is an entry that says:
    Major Activities Affecting Case Closing:
Awaiting 2008 tax returns to determine potential refund.

My last day for objections from creditors is Friday, Jan 30. We expected our case would be discharged next week, and closed within a month of giving our income tax return.

Does this mean our case is open until May 7, 2010?

I was planning to get a job, does this mean I should wait?

    Please help!!

Did you claim your tax refund as an asset? I can't be sure, but it kind of looks like they're holding off "closing" until you get any refund they can take. Discharge and closing are two different things... and I could be wrong. If I am, I'm sure someone will come along and correct me.

We don't get any exemptions here, so you can't claim a tax refund as anything. I don't care about the tax refund. My concern is the date listedas May 2010!! We were suppose to move this summer, and we won't be able to afford to if I don't get a job soon.

You can't use the Federal exemptions? I thought you could if no state exemptions were there. Of course there has to be Fed exemptions for your state for this to apply. What state are you in?

Also, being in bankruptcy doesn't mean you are in a continual 'holding pattern' until all is over and done--though I know all too well that it feels like you are. Go after your new job! You have your lives to live. Go for it!!

There are no exemptions here. We are in Kansas. We were close to the income threshold when we filed, so it is my understanding that I can't get a job until the case is discharged and closed, otherwise it would be fraud, because we would have an increase in income?
